SUMMARY:IEEE Conference: Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD)
DESCRIPTION:During this one-hour session\, we will present Po.Li.Te (https://www.politelab.com/)\, a startup focused on advanced simulation tools for VCSEL design and provide a live technical demonstration of our software platform. \nThe presentation will begin with a brief overview of the current challenges in VCSEL development. \nWe will then introduce the core architecture of our software\, which integrates optical\, thermal\, and dynamic solvers within a unified and computationally efficient framework. \nThe live demo will showcase how to model a VCSEL starting from its geometrical and material parameters\, with a focus on: \n\nfull-vectorial optical mode computation\nevaluation of threshold gain and emission wavelength\nanalysis of near-field and far-field profiles\nimpact of thermal effects on device performance\n\nWe will demonstrate how the platform enables fast\, predictive simulations on standard desktop hardware\, supporting parametric sweeps and design optimization without the need for high-performance computing resources. \nThe session will conclude with a discussion on industrial applications and current development roadmap. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to access a free 14-day trial version of the software following the workshop. \n  \nPo.Li.Te Workshop for VCSEL modeling – Cork 2026
